It is 1973, and 10-year-old Jody lives in a suburbian area somewhere in California with her family.
Jody has grown up with all those very colorful, imaginative Saturday morning cartoons and shows that feature regular musical numbers and phantastic adventures in strange worlds/places – H.R. Pufnstuf, the Bugaloos, Doctor Dolittle, Scooby Doo, Josie and the Pussycats etc. etc., and this has shaped her love for music, bright colors, singing and dancing.
She would love to have an adventure in a magical place like the heroes of her favourite shows, but since that´s rather unlikely, she´ll settle for being in the school play.
She would like to learn to play an instrument but hasn´t quite decided which one yet.

Jody has an innocent crush on Jimmy from H.R.Pufnstuf (not so much the actor, Jack Wild) and would love to be best friends with him.
Her favourite book is “The Phantom Tollbooth”, followed closely by the Narnia books.
Jody loves to spend her days playing outside with her friends. She is a Junior member of the girl scouts.
Jody´s mother is a housewife. She is very much into the “country-style” crafts that are currently popular (candlemaking, macramee, etc.).
She is trying to get the family to go vegetarian, especially since meat is currently very expensive. Jody´s dad is not convinced yet, but ever since Jody has seen “Charlotte´s Web” at the movies, she is quite into giving up meat.
