“Meet Me In St. Louis”, based on Sally Benson´s “Kensington Stories” is set in 1903/04. The main characters are the four daughters of the Smith family – Rose (18), Esther (16 1/2), Agnes (14) and Sarah, nicknamed “Tootie” (5). Both Agnes and Tootie fall into the target range, being played by actresses aged 5-8 (Tootie) and 10-14 (Agnes) on stage and in the gorgeous 1944 movie.
Tootie´s dress when she hitches a ride with the ice wagon reminds me a lot of Samantha´s Play Dress.
Agnes´ pleated dress is reminiscent of Samantha´s Meet and School dresses.

Halloween costumes – ‘Tootie’ is dressed as an unburied “horrible ghost,” who “died of a broken heart” (with an oversized coat, bowler hat, and long rat’s nose) and Agnes with a white ghost’s mask is “a terrible drunken ghost…murdered in a den of thieves.”
Costume Test for the Halloween scene
Tootie´s dress in this scene is a little bit similar to Nellie´s Holiday Outfit.
